Ice Fishing in Devil’s Lake, ND AND How Bad is the Wolf Problem in Wisconsin?
We welcome Nick Fautsch to the show. First time here for Nick. Nick has been a full-time fishing guide on Devil’s Lake in North Dakota for 14 years; hence, he knows the lake well. He specializes in catching Walleye, Perch, and Northern Pike. Nick guides summer and winter. He uses a special track snow machine called a SnoBear, known as the “ice fishing dream machine”.
Nick guides out of Dakota Sunset Resort on the beautiful west bay of the lake. You have certainly heard us talk about this resort in the past.
Our second guest this week is Laurie Groskopf from Northern Wisconsin. Laurie is Co Chair of Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, she serves on the WI DNR WCC (Wisconsin Conservation Congress) Wolf Advisory Committee, and she has lost two of her dogs to wolf attacks. Laurie is going to talk with us about the newest proposal – the WI DNR Wolf Management Plan. The plan is still in draft status and DNR is asking for input until February 28, 2023.
