Ice Fishing on Mississippi River, Lake of the Woods Ice Update, and Some Chat About Hunting Dogs

Dr. Tony Grabski is going to chat with us about his recent ice fishing adventure on the Mississippi River.  His adventure companions were Brian Stichter (High Brass Sporting Dogs & Guide Service ) and Wally Banfi (Waldog from… you guessed it –  Ultimate Outdoors Radio).   They got some beautiful jumbo perch!  They hired guides using an airboat so they were able to access obscure areas.

We will then talk about Tony’s hunting dogs – Novia Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.    This breed is intelligent, alert, energetic, and eager to please.  Tony, along with Brian Stichter, are members of the River Valley Hunting Retriever Club based out of Mazomanie, WI.

“River Valley HRC is a hunting retriever training club in the lower Wisconsin River Valley dedicated to the hunting, training, testing, and raising of hunting retrievers.”

Next we welcome back Joe Henry to the show.  Joe is Director of Lake of the Woods, MN Tourism.  As you may already know, Lake of the Woods is the Walleye Capital of the World!  We will chat about the recent fishing reports and the status of the ice in areas of the lakes.
