Hunting in Extreme Weather & Conditions AND Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in Wisconsin Deer
These photos are of Jim Corcoran who will be our first guest this Saturday morning. Jim is a world traveler, big game hunter, and an avid outdoorsman. Jim is from Wisconsin but has hunter all over the world and amongst his many accomplishments, he has harvested the GRAND SLAM OF SHEEP. He has hunted sheep in British Columbia, Alberta, and Sonora, Mexico. Pictured above is also a bear he got in Alaska and his Nebraska elk, which ties the Nebraska State Record in the typical category. We are going to chat with Jim about hunting in extreme situations & terrain and extreme weather.
And we welcome Amanda Kamps, a Wildlife Health Conservation Specialist with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WI DNR). Amanda will be talking with us about Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in the Wisconsin herds, where DNR is closely monitoring samples, and how and why you can get your deer tested .
“Hunters anywhere in Wisconsin can submit a sample from their deer for CWD testing. Testing through the DNR is free for deer harvested in Wisconsin.”
