Walleye Management Study AND Catching Giant Panfish with Scented Bait

Welcome to Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Biologist Max Wolter.   Max is joining us to talk about their Walleye Management Meetings which began this fall and continue through February.   The meetings are online virtual meetings.

Walleye are one of the most popular species targeted by Wisconsin anglers. Each year, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) stocks hundreds of thousands of walleye fingerlings into lakes across the state, surveys walleye populations and walleye anglers, and works on habitat projects to benefit walleye. All walleye management activities are guided by Wisconsin’s Walleye Management Plan, which was created in 1998.

Check the website to see the ways in which you can have input on the management plan.   Link to site on how to have input

Another  welcome  to  Brandon  Young  of  B – Y Baits  LLC.   B-Y  Baits Manufactures  scented   micro  plastics  for  catching  giant  panfish  through  the  ice!

FROM THEIR WEB SITE:  “Frustrated with the plastic bait selection on the market, B-Y BAITS owners took things into their own hands and started making their own finesse plastic lures.  From start to finish they designed, manufactured, and put their baits to the test across the waters of their home state of Wisconsin.  After developing a one-of-a-kind line-up of baits, the success on the water drove them to make their coveted baits available to the public.  We sincerely hope you enjoy catching more and bigger fish faster than you ever have before!”
