All About Trophy Muskies and Northern WI Muskies and…The Milwaukee Muskie Expo

Up first this week is Doug Wegner owner of Doug Wegner Fishing out of Green Bay, Wisconsin.   Doug is a very accomplished angler and successful fishing guide.  He guides full-time and specializes in trophy Muskie, Walleye, and Bass on the waters of Green Bay,  Canada, and Minnesota.  We are going to chat with Doug about those 50″ Muskies, electronics, and filming educational fishing videos for his YouTube Channel – ‘Doug Wegner Fishing‘.   

Our next guest is Jake Smith.  Jake and his Father Russ run ‘Smity Bait and Guide Service‘ out of Minocqua, Wisconsin.  Jake is a very successful angler as you can see by the photos above.    Jake will give us an update on the Muskies in 2024.    We might talk a little about the upcoming Milwaukee Muskie Expo too. 

Jake and his Father Russ are well-known in the fishing world.  Russ began making his own baits and lures since he was 13 years old.   And he was such a successful angler, his handmade baits became in demand throughout the area.   Russ still makes his Smity Baits in Minocqua, and his son Jake will participate in this area of the business when he is not out guiding.  Theirs is a very interesting story, which you can read on their web site.
