Bear Hunt in Wisconsin and Thoughts on Colorado Ban on Mt Lion and Bobcat Hunting
This week Waldog is going to talk with Todd Hess about bear hunting in Wisconsin with a recurve bow – this guy has had a lot of success. The photos above are Todd and his son, each with a bear they got this year.
Todd is a manufacturer’s representative and is an avid sportsman. He and his son are very successful Muskie anglers, mainly in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Canada. Todd has been a hard-core bowhunter since age 12. He has harvested big whitetails, mule deer, antelope, and bear – all with a bow and arrow. Todd has bagged over 35 whitetail with 5 Pope & Young deer to his credit.
Our second guest this week is Dan Gates from Colorado. Dan is a representative of ‘Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management‘, which is currently attempting to stop Prop 127 (formerly Colorado Ballot Initiative 91) which would ban all mountain lion and bobcat hunting in Colorado. What this means to the group is that Colorado’s hunting heritage is under threat and the threat could affect other states.

“Our mission is clear – to halt the advance of this anti-hunting agenda before it morphs into a nationwide ban on ALL HUNTING. The stakes are high, transcending beyond the borders of Colorado, beyond the fate of Mountain Lions and Bobcats. This is a clarion call to all hunters, anglers, and true conservationists across the United States. Your support is indispensable in this battle against misinformation and for the preservation of our rich wildlife heritage.”
