Spring Turkey Hunt AND Tomorrow’s Anglers Fish Quest Tourney
Big welcome back to Philippe Coquard! Philippe is co-owner of The Wollersheim Wintery & Distillery in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. And…he loves to hunt and fish and search for arrowhead artifacts . Philippe had a successful spring turkey hunt and he will be talking with Wally about his hunt. We are also going to talk a little bit about fishing! Look at some of the he recently got! Philippe will also talk about one of his favorite fundraisers – ”Unleashing Hope for Veterans’. The fundraiser was held on Saturday May 18. Philippe will talk about this wonderful organization and how they were able to help.
“Unleashing Hope for Veterans is a fundraiser to support ‘Ketchum’s Got Your Six‘, an organization that provides training for service dogs to Wisconsin Veterans suffering from PTSD. Brandon Ketchum, a Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq, embodied courage and sacrifice. After leaving the Marines, he joined the National Guard and bravely served in Afghanistan, where he was injured—both physically and emotionally. Tragically, on July 8, 2016, he lost his battle with PTSD.
Every day, 22 veterans die by suicide in the United States. Ketchum’s Got Your Six is dedicated to making a difference by raising funds to provide training for service dogs to Wisconsin veterans suffering from PTSD. These loyal companions offer invaluable support, comfort, and a lifeline to those who have bravely served our country. Our goal with this event is clear: if we can save a single life, it is worth every effort.”
Our second guest is Debbie Priepke. Debbie is a Business District Manager for Mercury Marine and she is going to talk with us about Tomorrow’s Anglers Fish Quest Tournament for children. The tournament will be held on Sunday July 21, 2024 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
“Tomorrow’s Anglers Fish Quest Tournament is a nonprofit event, which was conceived for the sole purpose of promoting fishing through a youth tournament whose format is modeled off real professional fishing circuits. A child and his or her parent are paired with a professional angler in a fully rigged boat for a day on the water learning and catching fish. The day concludes with each child coming to a stage with his catch where he will have his fish weighed-in, describe his day in an interview, and hold his catch up for the crowd. This grand scale event promises to be an unforgettable day for each child. Generous prizes have been donated and will be awarded to the children.”
