Fishing, Hunting, Archery Pro / Field Trips to Fall in Love with Nature

Our first guest this week is Chris Scates.  Chris is a fishing, hunting, and archery pro.  He loves the outdoors and he loves getting his daughters and others outdoors, too!  His daughter Abby bagged a big gobbler recently during the Wisconsin Youth Turkey Hunt.  Chris is also the buyer for Wilderness Fish & Game store in Sauk City.  ‘Wilderness Fish & Game’ is lucky to have someone with such extensive knowledge in good outdoor gear!

Chris land Waldog will discuss Abby’s hunt and the importance of helping get kids outside.  And if there is time, we will talk about the trophy buck Chris bagged with his bow last fall.

Our second guest this week is Christine Tanzer.  Christine is the Field Trip Program Directory for the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin.  Christine has been at the helm of NRF’s Field Trip program since 1997. She has coordinated over 3,000 trips, helping tens of thousands of people explore Wisconsin’s most special places.  We are going to talk about the field trips for 2023!  The list of field trips is extensive and anyone will be able to find one that will interest them.

To name just a few of the 263 trips :  The Ice Age Trail, Birding, Effigy Mounds, Sunsets, Train Ride in Tiffany Wildlife Area, Rush Creek, River Paddle, Forest Bathing…

“The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin is a nonprofit 501c3 that was formed in 1986 as declining budgets severely compromised critical programs of Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources. With the support of our donors and members, the Foundation has boosted private sector investment and involvement for Wisconsin’s lands, waters and wildlife. Here you can learn more about our history and mission, meet our staff and board, and stay connected through news, reports, and our member magazine.”
