Wisconsin Elk Hunt – The Hunt of a Lifetime

Fresh off its first managed elk hunt in state history, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources unveiled regulations for the 2019 hunt. Once again, it will only take place within the Clam Lake Elk Range in Ashland, Bayfield, Price, and Sawyer Counties.” (RMEF Elk Network)
Our first guest is Keven Wallenfang, Wisconsin DNR Big Game Ecologist, to talk about the recently released season dates, application process and hunting regulations for the highly anticipated second elk hunt in Wisconsin.
Our second guest will be Dan Vandertie of Brussels, Wisconsin, who harvested the first elk of Wisconsin’s first elk hunt in the fall of 2018. Dan will talk about the excitement of his name being drawn and his experiences on this historic hunt, the hunt of a lifetime.
